Review by LightsWentOut

LightsWentOut I love a show that opens with a Ghost. Highlights for me was the BOTT > Ruby Waves, Been Around, Tube > About to Run frame that closed the first set. About to Run is an emotional song for me and it's always such a scorcher. It just gets more and more powerful each time I see it/hear it. Second set was high energy and a ton of fun all the way through. Some folks in the crew I was in had seen the Plasma show in Providence earlier and were psyched to get a Plasma. The BDTNL had some pepper on it and had my whole section bopping pretty hard. The Bug > Sand that followed was amazing. Bug, through the magic of that little girl singing it with Trey right before the summer Phish tour reframed that song for a lot of folks and this version was tight and powerful and a joy to witness. I have always loved Bug. I just it even more now. They could play Sand pretty much anytime, anywhere and I would be happy. This show was no exception. A Punch encore is a treat for me. I have seen it before in this slot and it just works, especially when its followed by a nice SANTOS. I was so psyched to be at Great Woods once again (last time was in 2010 at the Dr. Gabel show). After years of mainly West Coast/Colorado Phish crowds, being back in New England with a crowd of folks who have Phish in their DNA was a fun experience. I love the West Coast crowds, too, but I have to admit that the NE phans have it going on.
