And since we're entirely volunteer – with no office, salaries, or paid staff – administrative costs are less than 2% of revenues! So far, we've distributed over $2 million to support music education for children – hundreds of grants in all 50 states, with more on the way.
My first show was 11/2/94 in Bangor and living 4 hours away I knew I had to return for these shows even if Fenway is the far more convenient venue. I planned my Night 2 to be on the lawn with the wife and two daughters (their first show) while Night 1 was with my brother and friends in the pit. I made the right call. This was a great show although I agree the low point was during Miss You when I almost went for a beer just to stay moving. It was rainy pretty steadily at that point and the galloping Llama was exactly what was needed to pull us back into high gear. I'm not a hater of Miss You by any means but it disrupted the 2nd set flow from my perspective. Except for that minor hiccup it was a great offering by the band and I thoroughly enjoyed it.
