I heard the jams, knew they wreaked of Fall 94, and THESE jams had the Bowie feel IMO. I am shocked they weren't outed. I have to chuckle to myself because with these types of jams, everyone's go-to was to guess a November Bowie. Word of advice, go listen to the rager version of DWD from Ottawa 7/5/94. Hadn't heard it in years and almost forgot how sweet those Summer 94 mixes were with respect to being able to hear Mike's work.
The recordings I have for this week's jams are pristine - the types of AUDs where you realize a great AUD sounds better than a run of the mill SBD...
I remember the trading days, and almost feeling guilty for enjoying a good SBD, like I was cheating on the AUDs. My preference is to have a copy of the AUD and the SBD. Always fun to listen to a SBD copy and say; "oh, that's what was going on there" as your ear picks up on things you just can't get with an AUD. With the 20th anniversary of Big Cypress coming, I hope Phish decides to have remastered SBD copies available to the public for sale. There are many shows I'd like to get a SBD copy of and that show is a slam dunk.
