I think one of the greatest things about Phish is how far they've gone without plenty of mainstream media coverage, or at least without being in the forefront of the public consciousness at all times. I suspect and hope that that contributes to their (and our, the phans') health as a band (and its community.) Nobody's just chewing Phish up and spitting them out on their sell-by date, if they have one... people tend to savor them, instead.
