The Mockingbird Foundation is a non-profit organization founded by Phish fans in 1996 to generate charitable proceeds from the Phish community.
And since we're entirely volunteer – with no office, salaries, or paid staff – administrative costs are less than 2% of revenues! So far, we've distributed over $2 million to support music education for children – hundreds of grants in all 50 states, with more on the way.
I'm happy to give @nichobert the nod, here. And this isn't in response to @n00b100 's point - 'hewing' close to '97 and whatnot....
....that reads accurate, and makes sense to me. I don't get the 96 comparisons raised elsewhere, particularly on the jam 'chart.'
In 96 Simple was supercharged and exceedingly percussive; especially leading up to and post 10/31. I agree that the year was a high-water mark for the tune, but don't here that here - or at the Greek, either.
Greek at 10.00 mins is great Phish music. Better than the 96 ideas, I think -
