MYSTERY JAM MONDAY PART 465

Welcome to the 465th edition of Phish.Net's Mystery Jam Monday, the third of May - shout-out to @PhreePhish for one of the clips! The winner will receive an MP3 download code courtesy of our friends at LivePhish.com / Nugs.Net. To win, be the first person to identify the song and date of both mystery clips. Each person gets one guess to start – if no one answers correctly in the first 24 hours, I'll post a hint. After the hint, everyone gets one more guess before Wednesday at 10 AM PT / 1 PM ET. Stay safe!

Hint: I'm a little surprised that jams played in these legendary months of the band's history would make it to the hint.

Answer: Congrats to @perpg on his fourth MJM victory - this week he used the hint to track down the 12/8/95 "Tweezer" and 8/12/93 "Tweezer." Be sure to check both of this whacked out "Tweezer"s when you get the chance, and stay tuned for MJM466...

sumac22 Really like Mike's bass work in that second clip. Good luck to those searching today!

mcgrupp81 Generous hint. Always thought the performance featuring the first jam was underrated.

RollinInMyGrego Ahh it doesn't get more legendary than August 93! Oh, December 95 you say? Yeah, that was a big one too. N-N-November 97. Right, of course. Wait--what? June 94? February 03???

Nevermind, I'll guess I'll wait til next week...

Tweezer 8/12/93

wow well done, damn I had the first and I was seriously listening to 8/12/93 when I hit refresh and saw you got it.. BUT I was chasing Reba’s since it had an Eb Lydian feel, I was sure I just hadn’t found it yet!

got the Tweezer earlier cuz the hits were in A, I didn’t think to check this one though cuz HOW you gonna get a tritone away to that Eb, Phish?! by being nasty, that’s how.. but yea I would have kept looking right past that Tweezer all day

It is. A hot Reba, scorching Melt, and rocking Possum are just a few highlights, but the show flows great from start to finish.

this is why I wanna hit retirement... so I don’t end up all burnt out hunting fiery jams and I can actually go enjoy these after!

uctweezer the AUD for 8/12/93 is fire
some of the SBD circulates too

If you know that Tweezer, you can anticipate the imminent Get Back tease > modulation in this clip, but if you hadn’t heard it before it’s a really tricky one

mcgrupp81 Anybody go to the 12/8 show? I thought I read somewhere that it was a bitch to get there because of the snow. Strong three song start and that wacky Tweezer.

perpg WOOHOO! on monday i had an inkling they might be tweezers from the mid-90s but i had no idea where to start. after the hint i went straight to august 93 looking for the first clip and came up with nothing. so i skipped to december 95 and bingo bango, thar she blows! i was about to run through june 94 looking for the second clip as i was getting a little bit of a mcgrupp-ish vibe from mike so i thought maybe it was a tweezer played after a mcgrupp (these MJMs lead the mind in strange directions) but luckily decided to revisit august 93 one more time first and found it nestled in that killer tweezer. thanks @UCPete! i don't know if i tagged you correctly, but i appreciate you taking the time to put this together every week!
