uctweezer For the first time in my life, I missed songs at a Phish show (including this sequence) -- no regrets! Here's the setlist from my phone from that night:

elephantus Twas quite the intersection of my two passions: phish + mlb; and both so rich in statistics. This is one for the ages, and what an insane vibe inside BGCA!

WasteMyTimeWithYou This gives me goosebumps. I can't even imagine what the energy in that venue must have felt like.

dick_tatertot Moments like this are what make Phish. They aren't just up there playing their songs, they're considering the context of the show and how they can intertwine the energy of the music and the energy of context. This was one was masterful.

Scott Before the show my friend was speculating that the band was watching the game and that the show wouldn't begin before the end of the 9th inning. I predicted that if the Giants held out for the win that the band would open with We Are the Champions. Oh what mad fun this was.

Clearly they had anticipated the moment, if you see Trey looking at Page and Fish after the victory was apparent; I wonder if they had a loser/consolation song ready for the opposite result?

As a recording this first set isn't the best, but as a live experience it didn't matter, the place was electric for the entire afternoon before the show and this recording doesn't begin to express the energy of the victory cheer Moma-WATC moment and the next hours. Part of me really wanted to be outside watching the game as I'd watched at least 20 Giants games through the fall but no, the show was the place to be. Crazy way to start a 4 show tour that exceeded my ridiculously high expectations.

That's what I get for using a site other than imgur to upload an image. Let's try that again:

User_25597_ As a Giants fan, a Phish fan, and a San Franciscan, what an incredible confluence of events. Only here would city officials think it was a great idea to have an outdoor viewing of the game situated right next to venue full of rowdy Phish heads. SF still brings the thunder, yall.
