MYSTERY JAM MONDAY PART 141

Welcome to the 141st episode of Phish.net's Mystery Jam Monday! We're a scant 5,637,600 seconds or so from lights down in Bangor. If you've got a spare sixty to waste, give this one a listen. If you recognize which song and show it was culled from, post your guess in the comments. Because MJM Headquarters was the big winner last week, the first contestant to correctly identify this week's song and date will win TWO MP3 downloads, courtesy of our friends at LivePhish.com / Nugs.Net. The rules haven't changed: one guess per person per day, with the second “day” starting after I post the hint. A hint will be posted on Tuesday if necessary, and the answer will be posted on Wednesday.

Good luck!

Wednesday Answer: No luck was needed, as @westbrook identified the 8/24/93 Vancouver Soundcheck Jam (the first 10:00 of that YouTube) within the first two minutes of the contest, and wins a pair of MP3 downloads. Although, considering that @yunkfunk also answered correctly within seconds of the winning comment, perhaps a bit of luck was involved. Regardless, the Blog was thoroughly flogged -- per usual, you contestants are truly on your game.

Episode #142, next Monday. Same Phish time. Same Phish channel.

MiguelSanchez Son of a bitch... i just downloaded this show w/ sndchk last night and was looking forward to listening to it this morning. it got bumped to listen to a new source someone threw me of 11/3/96. either way, @westbrook was fast as lightning, so it's a mute point.
, comment by PhreePhish
PhreePhish Damn that was fast!

Doesn't it remind you of the end of the 12/31/99 DWD? Or maybe a MLB jam.

I really hate to do this, but I can't help it -- my buddy makes this mistake all the time and it drives me nuts (I'm pretty sure he does it on purpose now to troll me): it's a "moot" point.

The_Good_Doctor Nice freakin' work! Is anyone keeping stats on time to MJM post to correct answer? That has got to be close to a record.

Dude, I was going to say that this was a serious case of MJM preejaculation. Early bird usually catches the worm.

The use of 'mute' instead of 'moot' actually makes more sense in this context. Moot implies that something is disputable, but Miguel indicated that it was indisputable. You could, therefore, press mute on any dispute of the 8/24/93 Soundcheck Jam.

Pregnant_hens MiguelSanchez, is the new source for 11.03.96 worth checking out?

TheRealMikeGordon I wonder what the difference in time was between the yunkfunk post and the westbrook post!!

I'm sure he was using it to mean "of little or no practical value or meaning; purely academic", as he pointed out that despite having downloaded the show last night, @westbrook got it so quickly today that it wouldn't have even mattered had he known it right away. But something tells me you already know this... :)

i would've linked it up if it were. it sounds just like the one i had pulled off the spreadsheet, but it has some different album art attached. i have both sources on my ipod. i'm about to confirm it's the same shit on my way home from work. if it is different, it's nothing you should sweat picking up. it's solid but it is, by no means, fantastic.

Yes! I am also partial to King Sized Homer in the moo moo.

funkbeard I immediately thought it must be '93, because they would go to these kinds of places that year. As for identifying it, well... thanks MMJ for pointing out a wonderfully pretty jam I haven't previously heard.
