phish123 Tonight was my 378th show and I don’t know if I’ve ever heard the band sound so incredible. The experience was mind blowing and the jams were amazing. Being at this festival feels really special. I can’t wait to see what the next few nights are like. Thank you so much Phish!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Review by rjmasterson

rjmasterson “It’s only night one!” - a common refrain heard on this, the opening show of Mondegreen. Even including when one of Trey’s amps failed, the band sounded dialed in and almost impatient to get to the jams. Monstrous S1 culminating in a fiery “Sand,” followed by a bright S2 featuring a lot of teases and tension from all parties involved. The encore was fitting, the band launching into a sinister “Saw It Again” followed by a bouncy “Possum” and the classic “Slave” closer. Overall, a solid start to what promises to be a tremendous weekend.

Review by Billybones

Billybones I don't know if this is where you do this, but in Moma Dance Page doved into a pretty sizeable "Walking in the Air" tease (the theme song from the animated film The Snowman) which Trey jumped on. Brought tears to my little childhood eyes. "Walking in the Air"

Review by Xpanding_Man

Xpanding_Man Only three reviews so far? Not cool :)

Yes, this was supposed to be a warm-up. No, it was FAR from meh. I think we were all just happy to finally be there are ready for music, there was a palpable sense of relief, and a feeling of "OK, let's do this"...but hey, let's pace ourselves too. We have a long way to go until Sunday.

I called Moma, as did seemingly many others. Wolfman's was poper, 'nuff said. But the real fun started up in Set 2. I was floored by the effects I was hearing during the opener, and Chalkdust seemed an appropriate follow-up. Light starting shining and I for one thought it was well placed. Yes, I was quite disappointed that Trey rejected the Sally tease during Caspian, but Crosseyed made up for it somewhat. Lonely Trip was absolutely PERFECTLY placed; we needed a breather and we got one. Everything's Right wouldn't have been my choice for a closer but hey I'm not Beethoven.

I started laughing my ass off during Saw It Again, knowing that couldn't be the closer. Possum was fun but standard, as was Slave. By that point, I'd been up for way too long (woke up at 4 AM that day to catch a flight to PHL), so I made a b-line back to our RV to rest up for the next day. I had no idea what was coming next....

Review by Dirty_Harry_Hood

Dirty_Harry_Hood Meh-tastic! Still had an absolute blast, but musically that was a mediocre warmp up show. Caspian through Everything's Right had some extra mustard, the rest felt pretty underwhelming in attendance.

Side note- Does anyone else think about the Seagulls from "Finding Nemo" during "Whats going through your Mind" Mind Mind Mind mine mine mine??
