spreaditround Come On Baby Let’s Go Downtown: Phish debut. Phish is covering tunes about scoring heroin now? Huh. Hiatus looms large.

Moma Dance: Hot, hot, hot. Rock star’d.

Frankenstein: Cool placement, unique.

Halley’s Comet: Another jammed version so soon after LTP @ 9.18.00? Yep. Very sleepy jam. Keep thinking it will evolve into something of substance. It does not. Crowd urges them on to no avail.

Fee: Clap a long at 5:41. Ugh. So Chicago, these people will clap a long to anything.

Stash: Glow sticks presumably go nuts at 2:18. Crowd FREAKS. Stick pegs Fish’s kit @ 3:25. Angry jamming and a big crowd peak at 9:47. Again at 10:06. Glow sticks? A ton of tension has been built by 12:00 but it peters out quickly from there and by 12:22 they are wrapping up, what a shame.

First set summary: 54 minutes, lol. DO NOT THROW GLOWSTICKS AT THE BAND. Nothing here to revisit really other than the Moma.

Birds of a Feather: Great opener, tons of energy – straight ahead.

Tweezer: 17 show gap (last was 7.8.00) - last gap like this was 18 shows from 7.21.17 to 12.30.17. Then the next biggest gap was 37 shows from 8.2.97 to 2.20.97. Interesting stat, no? This one snaps and pops as you would expect it to through 8:48 and then begins to settle. ‘Groove’ based from here through the end at 15:47. 2000’d.

NICU: Standard. LTP in set two was 12.13.99.

SOAMule: Standard.

FEFY: I adore this tune. But the second set is officially off track at this point.

Piper: Rock and roll through 9:55, drooling 2000 groove based space jam from there through the end 19:15.

Character Zero: Standard.

Encore:

Sleeping Monkey: This show did not deserve a Monkey.

Tweezer Reprise: Yep.

Summary: Not much here to report on y’all. Moma smoked. Halley’s had length but was boring, nothing like Blossom. Stash had potential but the band was not happy getting hit by glow sticks. Tweezer? Did not do much. Piper? The same. Super long encore break. Hmmmmmm.

I would rate this show a 3.5 of 5.
